Day Spa/Laser Clinic FAQ
We recommend allowing several hours between shaving and receiving any service that involves an exfoliation (body services, scrubs, facial) to decrease the risk of skin irritation or discomfort. If you are receiving Laser Hair Removal, we ask that you shave the day of the appointment.
Please call ahead to let us know if you are going to be late. Please keep in mind that arriving late for a service may require the spa to shorten the length of the treatment, with full charges applied. This is so we do not inconvenience other guests who have scheduled appointments.
We ask that you arrive at least 10-15 minutes prior to the start time of your first scheduled service. This will allow you time to check in at the desk and complete all necessary paperwork related to your service.
SWINA has a 24-hour cancellation policy. We understand that appointments may need to be cancelled or rescheduled, and ask that you provide a minimum of 24 hours’ notice when doing so. The credit card on file will be charged for all no shows and appointments cancelled or rescheduled within less than 24 hours.

Yes, we offer both day and night classes. Our Day program hours range from 8:30 AM to 5 PM Monday – Friday. Our Evening program hours are 6 PM to 10 PM on Monday – Thursdays and occasional Saturday classes from 8:30 to 5 PM. Please connect with an Admissions Advisor for your schedule.
Yes, as part of our regular curriculum we include a special series of State Board classes that focus on getting our students prepared to take the State Board written and practical exam. Your State Board licensing fees are already factored into your tuition, so upon graduation, once your hours have been submitted, you can schedule your testing dates.
Yes, we are nationally accredited by ACCET, the Accrediting Commission for Continuing Education and Training. Being nationally accredited allows us to offer federal financial aid to those who qualify.
SWINA provides you with state-of-the-art skincare techniques to master the skills needed to pursue many careers and entrepreneurial opportunities. While we do thoroughly prepare you to take both the written and practical licensing exams required by Arizona State Board of Cosmetology, our focus is on teaching you the real-world skills and current spa technologies used in high-end resorts and Med Spas that will lead to great employment opportunities, or to building a successful practice of your own.
Yes, Financial Aid is available for those who qualify. If your program is more than 600 hours, you may apply for Financial Aid at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Our school code is 035933.
There are so many employment opportunities available as a licensed aesthetician! A few examples include working in a spa, salon, med spa or resort, becoming a makeup artist, independent contractor, or product sales representative, and even opening your own business!
No. SWINA teaches an advanced curriculum containing both natural and clinical aesthetics. This allows our students to have the knowledge and experience to give their clients what they want and need.
- For safety reasons, children under the age of thirteen are not permitted to receive services at SWINA
- A consent form must be signed for children ages 13-17
- An adult must be present (in the treatment room) for all services performed on children between the ages of 13-15
- Children under the age of 13 may not be left alone in the lobby at any time
- All laser services are performed on clients 18 years of age and older
